Recently, the Iowa Defenders, PLLC team got a case dismissed for one of our clients who was charged with criminal mischief in the fifth degree. Specifically, our client was accused of smashing someone’s windshield in the parking lot of a convenience store. The video footage actually showed a man who looked like our client. Plus, the police did not request the actual video but instead took a video of the video.
Given that the evidence was of such poor quality and thereby unusable, the state dismissed the case the morning before the scheduled trial. As always, we are happy that we were able to get this important win for our client.
